Cut in shortening to flour and salt mixture until it resembles fine bread crumbs. Sprinkle with water and mix to form dough. Roll out on a floured board to 1/8 inch thickness. Cut into circles to fit jam tart tin and place pastry in tin. Prick
bottom and sides of pastry and add 1 teaspoon jam (we recommend fig or any other flavor of yummy Loveless preserves) to each. Top each tart with a cross made from
pastry trimmings. Bake at 350 degrees for 15 minutes or until pastry is golden
Ruthie Cherry Fine Art Celebrates 6 Years at the Loveless This Month
July marks the sixth anniversary of Ruthie Cherry Fine Art in the Motel Shops at the Loveless Cafe. When Ruthie chose the Loveless location, she felt the relaxing atmosphere was appropriate for the ambience she wanted inside her gallery.
“I wanted a gallery where visitors would feel comfortable and take their time enjoying the art,” says Cherry. “Feeling 'at home with fine art' is our goal!"
Ruthie Cherry Fine Art is one of the original tenants in the refurbished row of motel rooms known now as The Motel Shops. Within a year of opening, Cherry expanded into a second space adjoining the original gallery. Success at the location has gone well beyond expectations. Come by on your next visit to the Loveless!
Gallery hours for Ruthie Cherry Fine Art are 10 a.m. until 5 p.m. 7 days a week. Samples of artists' works can be viewed at www.RuthieCherryFineArt.com. For more
