Ruby is an boutique event hall and Nashville original. We host weddings (rehearsal dinners, ceremonies and receptions); university, corporate and non-profit events; music productions (concerts, music videos, CD release and after parties, showcases); film and photo shoots; birthdays, anniversaries and bar/bat mitzvahs; church services; and pretty much everything else people have thought of as a reason to get together.
Our name derived from our architect’s constant reference to the structure and property as a “small jewel”. Ruby is located on the edge of Hillsboro Village, surrounded by Fannie Mae Dees Park (aka Dragon Park) and across the street from the Vanderbilt. Our space has been referred to as contemporary, industrial, historic and natural – almost anything other than institutional. The blank canvas provided is conducive to all manner of events.
Housed in what used to be a Primitive Baptist Church (constructed 1945), Ruby retains the original wood ceilings and metal trusses, brick exterior, masonry walls, and hardwood floors – most of which were concealed when we started the renovation. The alteration of the structure includes the addition of a large side deck and front and back courtyards as well as three poured concrete additions. Ruby’s interior is open with plenty of natural light and large mahogany doors that open up to the side deck, creating a natural flow through the space and between the indoors and outside much like a private residence.
Ruby can accommodate events up to 300 for a reception, 200 for a seated ceremony/concert/seminar/theatrical production, and 110 to 160 for a plated/seated dinner. Capacity varies based upon layout and the use of the outdoor spaces. Parking is generally available next door at facilities that have partnered with Ruby. Valet service is available.
